Just two months after retiring from International duty, the Argentine forward announced that he will be back for the country much to the delight of his fans. His issues with the Argentine Federation remains unresolved, but Messi assured that it can be fixed by working from the inside.

Good news for Argentina and Lionel Messi fans, as the forward announced on Friday that he would be reporting back for international duty with the Albiceleste, just 2 months  after announcing his retirement. In a statement released online, Messi reported that he would be available for the national side after Argentina’s newly appointed manager Edgardo Bauza named him in the 18-man squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Venezuela.

Messi announced retirement following a third final loss for Argentina during the Summer, when they lost to Chile in the Copa America Centenario final in June 2016. “A lot of things ran through my head on the day of the final. And I seriously considered leaving the team, ” Messi said in a statement released the Argentine Football Federation. “But I love my shirt and my country too much,” he added.

The Barcelona legend thanked all the fans for supporting through the dark times, and he hoped that the team can bring joy to the fans very soon. Speaking about his differences with the Argentine Football Federation, which was the main reason behind him announcing retirement, Messi said, “There are many things that need to be fixed in Argentine football. But I prefer to help from inside rather than stand on the outside and criticize.”

Messi’s return Argentina will be a big boost for the team as they prepare for the World Cup Qualifier against Uruguay on September 1, and against Venezuela on September 6.
