After registering three wins in three games, table-toppers Bengaluru FC will take on Mumbai FC on Wednesday at the Cooperage stadium, in Mumbai as they look to continue their winning start to the I-League season.

Bengaluru FC have made a perfect start to the season scoring six goals and conceding just one goal in their three games. After decimating Shillong Lajong 3-0 in their first home match of the season on Sunday, the Fed cup champions will be eyeing the fourth win of their campaign, when they travel to Mumbai tomorrow.

On the other hand, Mumbai FC had an indifferent start to the season with two goalless draws and a win. Their 2-1 win came in the last match against Salgaocar on Sunday with captain Taisuke Matsugae and striker Sushil Kumar Singh chipping in with the goals. Khalid Jamil’s side will look to upset Bengaluru, who leads the title race against the Kolkata sides – East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

Both these teams have met four times in the I-League before and have always ended up sharing the spoils with nothing separating them.

Team News

Striker Kim Song Yong scored a brace in Bengaluru’s 3-0 win over Shillong Lajong on Sunday and will once again lead the attacking line with Sunil Chhetri and CK Vineeth in support. Ashley Westwood’s team will miss the services of Daniel Lalhlimpuia, who faces, at least, four more weeks on the sidelines with an injured knee. Englishman Michael Collins, who replaced injured Joshua Walker in the team is yet to arrive in the country and will miss the trip to Mumbai. Robin Singh is the other player missing from the squad at the moment and no expected return date has been placed on him at the moment.

Mumbai FC also have an injury problem with midfielder Steven Dias unlikely to take the field after suffering an ankle injury. The rest of the squad are believed to be fit and available for selection.

Prediction

Mumbai FC 0-1 Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru look the superior side on paper and is expected to register a victory in a close encounter against Khalid Jamil’s side at the Cooperage stadium.
