Italian World Cup winner Gianluca Zambrotta has been announced as the new manager of the Delhi Dynamos for the third season of the league. The former Juventus and Barcelona star was unveiled at New Delhi, on Tuesday, to replace Roberto Carlos as the manager of the club.

Gianluca Zambrotta, considered one of the greatest full-backs of his time, signed a two-year contract with the side from Delhi. He had started his playing career at Italian club Calcio Como in 1994, but the biggest breakthrough of his career came when he signed up for Juventus in 1999. Zambrotta went on to win two consecutive Serie A titles in 2002 and 2003 in seven seasons at the club, before playing at Barcelona and AC Milan, where he won his third Serie A. The Italian ended his career at Swiss club Chiasso in 2014. Zambrotta began his coaching career at the same club and managed the club until recently.

The Delhi Dynamos were managed by Brazilian World Cup winner Roberto Carlos in the last season when they reached the semi-final.
