India’s Saurabh Chaudhary bagged the gold medal in the men’s 10 air pistol final after he shot a total 246.3 to comfortably finish ahead of Russia’s Artem Chernousov who shot 243.8. Meanwhile, Shahzar Rizvi had to settle for the fifth spot as she scored 177.6 in the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Munich.

Chaudhary won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in 10m Air Pistol and in doing so he became the youngest Indian gold medalist at the quadrennial event.

The talented teenager added to his growing medal tally as he won his second gold medal of the season in the men’s 10m air pistol final in the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Germany. Chaudhary shot an impressive 246.3 in the final ahead of Russia’s Artem Chernousov (243.8) and Wei Pang (220.7) who finished second and third respectively.

Saurabh is the only Indian shooter to win a gold medal in the Youth Olympic, Asian games, Junior ISSF world championship, ISSF World Cup and Asian Airgun championship. The 17-year-old had earlier won the gold medal at 2019 ISSF World Cup in Delhi in February.

Meanwhile, former world number one - Shahzar Rizvi - missed out on a podium finish in the final as he shot 177.6 to finish fifth behind Jiayu Wu of China who shot 199.1.
