Fortunate India enter quarters in men’s Asian basketball

Despite losing to higher-ranked Philippines 99-65 in their final second round league game, India qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2015 FIBA Asia Basketball Championship for men in Changsha-Hunan (China).
India moved to the knockout berth for the first since 2003 on the basis of winning two games out of three in the second round, and for having beaten Palestine, who finished with the same record in the group, head-to-head.
India will meet the winner of the China-Qatar match in Group F in the quarterfinals.
