The DDCA may lose the right to host matches scheduled for the World T20 tournament in March next year, warned BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur on Sunday. Thakur emphasized that the body will lose more than just the fourth Test to other venues in case it fails to get the required clearances from civic bodies by November 17.

"We have to wait and watch till November 17 if Delhi is ready or not for the Test. If Delhi fails to stage the Test, the venue may also lose the World T20 matches," Thakur told TOI.

The Delhi District Cricket Association's (DDCA) chances of hosting the match have been decreasing day by day after the body has gotten itself mired in multiple issues.

The body has witnessed poor administration over the past few years that has plunged it into bankruptcy. The State Government had directed the DDCA to pay 24.45 Cr INR in entertainment taxes which are reportedly unpaid since 2012, while the DDCA has requested for a waiver of the same.

The Delhi Government had earlier constituted a two-man committee to probe into alleged financial irregularities at the DDCA, after former India spinner Bishan Singh Bedi met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and shared documentary evidence about the body.

The Committee's report was supposed to have been tabled by Sunday, but has been delayed adding to the DDCA's woes. "The report will take another day or two. However, the aim is to get it done by Monday evening. There is too much of mess in this association. The system needs to change," a government source close to the probe panel told TOI.

The Committee had serious concerns about the body even prior to tabling the report, it is learnt. "In the meeting, the Committee pointed out the issue of DDCA facing multiple probes from different agencies of Central government- CBI, SFIO, Registrars of Companies (ROC).

"Besides, there are also four police complaints against the cricket body and it has not been able to get even competition certificate and structural safety certificate for the stadium from MCD," sources had said after a meeting on Saturday between the Committee and DDCA officials as quoted by PTI.
