Twitter reacts to Ashwin winning the ICC Cricketer of the Year and Kohli being left out of Test team
ICC announced the annual cricketing awards this morning, and everyone was in for a shock - Kohli was surprisingly left out of the ICC Test team and not awarded the ICC Player of the Year. Inspite of being happy for Ashwin, the Twitterati were disappointed at Kohli not making the cut.
After a year full of incredible performances in all the formats of the game, Ravichandran Ashwin has won the ICC Cricketer of the Year Award for the first time in his career. The off-spinner has become the first Indian to win this award since Sachin Tendulkar received it in 2010.
Maybe the Test team is only for humans :P
As Captain:

Most Test wins in 2016: V Kohli
Most Test loss in 2016: A Cook
But Cook is Captain for ICC Team of the year! 😏
Poor team it will be!
With Cook as captain and Bairstow guaranteed to drop a few catches every game, I won't bet on ICC's test team if the year.

R Ashwin has been named the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2016. Isn't it amazing that a person gets a Cricketing award for playing good Carrom!

The Jury was drunk?
So number 1 test ranked batsman Steven Smith is 12th man and 2nd ranked Virat Kohli is not even in test team of the year #ICCAwards

ICC Cricketer of the Year R. Ashwin
Looks like Lord Jadeja ignored #ICCAwards #Cricket
Should we keep an Indian XI v ICC Test team XI?
4 English players and No Kohli in the ICC Test team of 2016, Give us Ashwin back and Kohli's team can beat this team next week pic.twitter.com/tSycFt7A4d

And Indians have begun their whining!
No Virat Kohli, and failed captain Alistair Cook as captain? This ICC team can be beaten by a good Ranji team pic.twitter.com/8LhFSLF4j3

For all the fans who have been disappointed, this is the reason!
Remember the qualification period for the #ICCAwards ended in Sep. Due to recency factor of performances after that, some things look odd
