Indian skipper MS Dhoni on Saturday said that the "low scoring games" in the 2016 Asia Cup T20 in Bangladesh haven't been ideal for their preparation for the World T20. The skipper also talked about why people love T20 and took a dig at the umpiring standards in the match against Pakistan.

After a thrilling encounter at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday, Indian skipper MS Dhoni arrived at the post-match press conference in jubilant mode but was quick to turn his attentions to the pitches on offer in the Asia Cup, which has been assisting the pace bowlers.

"We scored 166 in one match but frankly we were going to score 140. Other than that there have been low-scoring games which I feel is not that good. We thought it would be good practice ahead of the World T20, so it's not a good practice in terms of hitting but yes in terms of respecting the conditions," Dhoni told reporters.

The Men in Blue scored 166 and 85 runs in their two matches in the Asia Cup against Bangladesh and Pakistan respectively. While the other two matches in the competition also remained low-scoring encounters with 133 from Bangladesh the highest score from the two.

The Indian skipper also added that the reason why people love T20 is because of fours and sixes.

"The reason why people love T20 is the sixes and fours. At the same time you don't want 80s and 100s. Low scoring should be 130-140 and high-scoring can be 200 or 240. In a way, it's good for us because we are a side that plays aggressive cricket. What it does, it pushes us to respect the conditions. In the coming games the openers won't go with a set mindset,” the 34-year old added.

Dhoni also took a dig at the umpiring in the high-octane Indo-Pak clash, which saw a nick from Khurram Manzoor's bat off Ashish Nehra’s bowl missing the umpire’s ears.

“You don't want me to get banned before World T20. You have all seen umpiring. It's your call, the Indian skipper said, when asked about the umpiring.

"One thing certainly should be done. Umpires now use walkie talkies as well as wear ear piece in one ear which effectively means they are umpiring with one ear. It's a difficult job. One needs to consider this. They are hearing with one ear. I believe there is no point having a ear piece when the bowler is bowling as you don't need to use it then. It's better to use both ears as a lot of things might happen on field," Dhoni added.
