While playing for India Green in the Duleep Trophy, Pragyan Ojha was hospitalized after suffering a freak head injury on day 4. Ojha, who was fielding at mid-on, was hit on the left side of his head in the second innings of India Blue before being stretchered off the field.

In the 63rd over of their second innings, India Blue's batsman Pankaj Singh drove Shreyas Gopal to mid-on, where Pragyan Ojha was fielding. The 30-year-old got down to stop the ball but it took a vicious bounce, right in front of him, and hit him on the left side of his head. Ojha went down immediately and was eventually stretchered off the field.

The Indian spinner was rushed to a nearby multi-speciality hospital, and latest reports suggest that a neurosurgeon has also been consulted. According to Hindustan Times, a team official has said that Ojha has remained conscious and that his heartbeat is normal.
