Gautam Gambhir has stoked a new controversy by saying that films should not be made on cricketers but on those people who have contributed for the welfare of the country. Ahead of the release of the biopic of MS Dhoni, this statement of Gambhir has not gone down well with the fans of MS Dhoni.

Delhi opener Gautam Gambhir has slammed the trend of making biopics on cricketers and said, “I don't believe in biopics on cricketers. I think those people who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers deserve a biopic."

The southpaw added, “There are lots of people in the country who have done so many noble deeds for the nation. Therefore, biopics should be made on their lives.”

Although Gambhir did not take any name in his statement, this comment is clearly a dig at his former teammate Mahendra Singh Dhoni with whom he does not have a good rapport now.

Earlier, a movie on Mohammad Azharuddin was made, which received mixed reactions from the audiences.

MS Dhoni: The Untold story is set to release on 30th September depicting the journey of the Indian limited overs skipper.
