After the Lodha Panel accused the BCCI of defying the apex court's orders in its status report, the Supreme Court has pulled up the BCCI and has asked them to 'fall in line' on Wednesday. The panel also blasted the BCCI for 'bringing the system to disrepute' and 'behaving like Lords'.

The Lodha panel, led by Justice R M Lodha, had sought the removal of Anurag Thakur and all the top board members of the BCCI from the helm of the organization after accusing the BCCI of defying court's order in its report.

“BCCI is not replying to emails and other communications sent to them and repeatedly defying the orders of the court,” Lodha panel's counsel appearing in front of the court had said, reported TOI.

On Wednesday, a bench headed by Chief Justice T S Thakur took note of the report by the Lodha panel and rebuked the BCCI for its inaction.

"If the BCCI thinks that they are law unto themselves, then they are wrong. They have to comply with the directions of the court.

"You (BCCI) are behaving like Lords. Fall in line otherwise we will make you fall in line. BCCI is bringing the system to disrepute by not following the directions,” the bench said.

Senior advocate Arvind Datar, who was representing the BCCI in the court, said that the changes suggested by the Lodha panel will be gradually implemented. The bench, however, took serious note of the dillydallying and said, "Law needs not to be defied. We are not happy about the things going on. We anticipated this approach from BCCI but this is not done. You will have to fall in line with the directions of the court."
