A video has been doing rounds on social media, which captured Shakib Al Hasan acting strangely with the new ball in the second Test against Australia. The Australian media have questioned the whole act, considering him to be guilty of ball tampering, which will probably be reviewed by the ICC.

David Warner hit his second successive Test century before Nathan Lyon lapped it up as Australia put their Dhaka debacle behind them to finish the highly-competitive series at 1-1. After Lyon bagged a phenomenal 10-fer in the match, Australia chased down a paltry total of 86 with seven wickets to spare. However, what caught the attention of the masses was a video of the local star Shakib Al Hasan doing some strange things with the ball.

A video was posted on Twitter which made some Australian websites question whether Shakib was ball tampering since the Bangladesh was behind the visitors in the game.

“The incident was missed by match officials but it will be interesting to see if the ICC reviews the tape and believes the action constitutes ball tampering,” News.com.au wrote about the incident.

“Further footage would need to be examined to establish any guilt, as these are often contentious debates, but in any case, it was an eye-raising move from Shakib given the extremely strict rules the ICC enforces around tampering the ball. Players are forbidden from changing the state or characteristics of the ball by rubbing or scratching,” they added.

In last November, South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis was fined by the ICC for using a "lolly" to add some extra shine on the ball during the second Test of the Australian tour and was banned to play one match.
