After Prithvi Shaw was banned from playing cricket until November 2019, six other players have been banned from the MCA junior camp on various grounds. While five were ruled overage having failed bone tests conducted by the BCCI last week, one was disqualified on grounds of domicile.

The time is not good for Mumbai cricket recently as Prithvi Shaw was banned from playing cricket after failing a dope test - in particular for inadvertently taking a cough syrup which had a banned substance in it. And now, six Mumbai boys, who were chosen amongst the 30-strong probables list for the U-16 off-season camp at Bandra Kurla Complex, were rendered ineligible on various grounds.

The Times of India reported that while five were ruled overage having failed bone tests conducted by the BCCI last week, one was disqualified on grounds of domicile - as he didn't have the minimum two-year residential qualification to play for Mumbai. After this development, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has kept selection trials on Saturday to pick replacements for the camp.

"We've asked the coaches of all the eight centres (where the MCA summer vacation camps were conducted) to send four of the most talented boys from each of their camps for the trails. Other than these 32 players, we will ask a few other players, whom we believe can now be a part of this camp. The moment we pick the probables now for the age group teams, we ask them to undergo a BCCI conducted bone test," he said.

Apart from that, the MCA on its website announced that it has suspended 33 male bowlers, and one female bowler have also been reported for suspect action. It has also named 36 players who cannot take part in any local tournament of the association with immediate effect.
