AUS vs PAK | Pink ball Tests going to be a whole different format, feels Pat Cummins
Ahead of the pink ball game in Adelaide, Pat Cummins has expressed his opinion about the Day-Night Tests being equivalent to a whole different format. Cummins is looking forward to the game at the venue, which he feels, will have ample to offer to the bowlers and favour the hosts.
After having secured a 1-0 lead against in the two-match Test series against Pakistan, the hosts will be moving to their sixth Day/Night contest. The game will start on November 29 at the Adelaide Oval. Australia have an unbeaten 5-0 record in pink-ball Tests, while Pakistan who have played three D/N games have won only once. T
he last time the two times played each other in a pink-ball fixture was in 2016 when they played at the Gabba. The match was won by the hosts, but Pakistan did put up a good show. World No.1 in Tests Cummins expected more sideways movement under lights in Adelaide than what they got at the Gabba.
"Pink ball is going to be a whole different almost format to what it was out here. It felt like once the ball got soft there wasn't a lot of sideways movement and they played really nicely, especially when we gave them some width,” Cummins told cricket.com.au after Australia's innings win in Brisbane.
"Hopefully Adelaide, our record there is really good, we know the conditions well, it'll be a bit of a different game, I think. We've all spent quite a few long days in the dirt on flat MCG or SCG wickets, so a bit of grass on the wicket, the pink ball zipping around at night – it's a fast bowler's dream."
