Royal Wahingdoh FC, the Shillong-based football club, has decided not to participate in the upcoming 2015-16 I-League season. The Royals are the third club to pull out of the I-League after Pune FC and Bharat FC.

The football club cited I-League’s lack of clear road map as the primary reason for pulling out, according to a report by Goal.com.

The club has also informed the All India Football Federation (AIFF) about their decision to pull out of I-League. "Yes, they have notified the AIFF of their decision to not participate in the I-League," informed an AIFF source.

The North-Eastern outfit, who finished third in last year’s I-League under the guidance of Santosh Kashyap, has players like Jackichand Singh and Seityasen Singh on their roster. The Club Licensing Committee of the I-League had granted Royal Wahingdoh FC license to play in the upcoming season in the last week of October.

As of now, the I-League will constitute only nine teams including the new entrant DSK-Shivajians.
