Paes-Peers lose in China Open first round

India’s Leander Paes and his Australian partner John Peers lost 6-7 (1), 6-4, 9-11 in 92 minutes to fourth seeds Canadian Daniel Nestor and Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the doubles first round of the China Open in Beijing.

Meanwhile, top-seeded Indo-Swiss pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis will open their women’s doubles campaign on Wednesday with a second round match against Sara Errani and Flavia Pennetta of Italy, following a first-round bye.

India’s Rohan Bopanna and his American partner John Isner will meet Pablo Cuveas of Uruguay and Viktor Troicki of Serbia in the men’s doubles first round.
