Ajinkya Rahane has turned to his childhood coach Pravin Amre to iron out his flaws against spin ahead of the fourth Test against England starting in Mumbai on Dec 8 after tallying just 63 runs from five innings, and falling once each to spinners Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Zafar Ansari.

Rahane checked in to the Bandra-Kurla Complex nets in Mumbai on Sunday with former Test batsman Amre and faced several spin bowlers with his coach watching closely from point region. Rahane focused on his defence before opening up to play square cuts, late cuts and cover drives.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, Amre was seen correcting Rahane’s bat angle on several occasions. After defending the spinners for close to two hours, Rahane played attacking shots towards the end of the net session.
