Pakistani left-handed batsman Haris Sohail may have to face a tragic end to his international career, after a source revealed that his knee operation has been unsuccessful in Dubai. The Sialkot-born batsman has now been taken to London for consultation with specialists.

Sohail, who played 22 one-day internationals for Pakistan, had suffered a severe knee injury in September 2015 and has been out of the team since then.

According to a report in PTI, Pakistan Cricket Board revealed the information saying, "It is sad news that Sohail's knee operation last year was not successful. The PCB chairman has now sent him to London for examinations but the picture is not very good about his future."

Sohail, despite not having played for his country for more than a year, has been given a central contract by the PCB in October. He scored 774 runs from 22 matches at an average of 43 runs in ODI cricket for Pakistan after making his international debut in 2013. The last time Sohail played a game for Pakistan was against Zimbabwe in 2015.
