Gujarat Lions will play their last two home matches at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur, IPL commissioner Rajeev Shukla confirmed on Sunday. The IPL table-toppers will face Kolkata Knight Riders and defending champions Mumbai Indians at the venue on May 19 and May 21 respectively.

With the matches scheduled at 8pm in the evening, there have been concerns about the floodlight facilities at the stadium, which has not hosted any International day-night matches or IPL matches so far. However, after the governing council’s green signal on Friday, IPL commissioner Rajeev Shukla on Sunday confirmed that the stadium will host the last two home matches of Gujarat Lions.

"The problem has been sorted. There were a few areas in the floodlights when the lux level was not adequate. We have now increased the number of bulbs and the brightness has been enhanced. [BCCI's chief cameraman SK Srikanth] gave the approval," Shukla told ESPNcricinfo.

Gujarat Lions are at the top of the table with six wins from eight matches, and will play their last match at the SCA stadium in Rajkot on May 3 against Delhi Daredevils before moving to Kanpur.
