Virat Kohli has commended India's performance against New Zealand calling it "all-round" and "complete" after winning the third Test by a margin of 321 runs. Kohli also reserved special praise for Ravichandran Ashwin, who bagged the 'Man of the Match' and 'Man of the Series' awards.

"This is a proper team series win. It wasn't just one individual. You can leave Ash (Ravichandran Ashwin) aside, he is not to be mentioned in the XI. Jadeja with the bat in the first game, Saha with the bat in the second (Test), Rohit with those crucial knocks," Kohli told journalists during the post-match presentation ceremony."Couldn't have asked for anything better. Everytime there was a partnership, one of us managed to break the partnership. It was up to the bowlers to express themselves, but not take it lightly, and that's what they did."Kohli said that the team keeps track of how many awards Ashwin wins since the latter has "lost count of his Man of the Series awards”. Ashwin received his seventh Man of the Series award for his exploits in the first two Tests, which he followed up with 13/140 to put an end to the Kiwis' resistance."We keenly follow his numbers, we discuss his Man of the Series awards after every series. No. 6, No 7. Credit to him I wish him well," Kohli concluded. The man of the moment, Ashwin, said that the pitch had a bit to offer but accepted the fact that in the second innings, it was poor shot selection that led to New Zealand's downfall. The 30-year-old also paid homage to all the other Indian bowlers stating that even on a spinning track they were able to hold their own."It was a wicket where you had to work hard, be patient. There was a little bit of help outside the off stump, in terms of footmarks. Second innings, they helped us out with their shots. The reason we were slow was because we wanted to get them driving. I have to give special mention to Shami, Bhuvi and Umesh, they got us a lot of wickets with reverse swing and Jaddu is a perfect foil," Ashwin said after the game.
