Amid all the tensions surrounding the crucial decider at Visakhapatnam against New Zealand, the Indian cricket team afforded themselves a moment of warmth. The whole team took to the field sporting their mother's name on their jerseys in what turned out to be a moment to cherish.

“We are quite used to having the surnames from the Dad's side, and what's important is to appreciate the stuff that Mothers have done for us. It's a very emotional connect and it's good that it is put on a public platform. I would like to request the whole of India keeps this in mind every day and appreciate them everyday,” MS Dhoni said during the toss, which he won and elected to bat first for the first time in the series.

Ajinkya Rahane, who was dismissed for 20 in the 10th over, also spoke about the sacrifices his mother had made for him to pursue his career in cricket. He felt that this gesture is a good way to remember those sacrifices.

“My mother has sacrificed so much for my cricket, and I still remember everything. It's a good initiative, to make sure the world knows how much mothers sacrifice for their kids," Rahane said.

The decision is working like a charm so far with India going strongly at 85/1 at the end of the 17th over. Rohit Sharma is looking in good form, and he is currently batting at 45 not out.

The Hotspot technology will not be present in the DRS package which will be used during the upcoming Test series between India and England starting from November 9. The reason appears to be the delay in transporting the hardware required for HotSpot, which would take at least until mid-November.
