WATCH | Pat Cummins bowls one of the worst balls in Test Cricket history
Bowlers have made some errors which have drawn hilarious reactions from players and fans alike and Pat Cummins' ball, against Bangladesh, will always feature in that montage now. In Bangladesh's first innings, Cummins bowled a delivery that missed the pitch by a huge distance and ended up at gully.
Cummins helped his team wrap up the host's innings for a mere 260 as he claimed three important wickets along with Nathan Lyon and Aston Agar. However, the Aussie fast bowler also produced one of the worst deliveries in cricket history to go along with his brilliant performance with the ball.
The incident occurred in the 67th over of Bangladesh's first innings when Cummins, bowling at Nasir Hossain, tried to deliver a knuckle ball. But the youngster failed to grip the ball properly and lost his control over it which resulted in the ball going to the fielder standing at gully.
Umpire Nigel Llong seemed confused as to whether to signal a wide or dead ball. However, after consulting with his field partner, he declared the delivery to be a no-ball and failed to hide his smile on his face. This episode managed to bring a smile on the faces of the players and fans alike.
Shakib Al Hasan’s (5/68) terrific performance helped Bangladesh to stop the Kangaroos at the total of 217.
