Indian Blind Cricket team today defeated archrivals Pakistan in the finals of the T20 World Cup for the blind at Bangalore to lift the cup for the second consecutive time. Wicket-keeper batsman Prakasha Jayaramaiah scored a brilliant 99 runs to help India track down the 198-run target in 17.4 overs.

Chasing a target of 198 runs, the Indian openers started on a very positive note. Local lad Jayaramaiah hit a flurry of boundaries to all the sides of the park and was ably supported by skipper Ajay Kumar Reddy, who scored 43 runs before being run-out by Israr Hassan.

Joining Jayaramaiah, highest run-scorer of the tournament Ketanbhai Patel kept the scorecard ticking until he was forced to retire when a ball hit him in the jaw. Dunna Venkatesh then joined Jayaramaiah to hit the winning runs to take India to its second consecutive T20 World Cup victory.

Earlier, winning the toss, Pakistan scored 197 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Opener Badar Munir hit a fantastic half-century. But he didn’t get any support from other batsmen. For India, Ketan Patel and Mohammed Jaffer Iqbal picked up two wickets apiece, whereas Sunil R and Ajay Reddy picked a wicket each.
