Supreme Court asks BCCI Treasurer to submit response to threat allegation made to CFO

While the Supreme Court was supposed to give their verdicts on BCCI's new constitution, it took a dramatic turn yesterday when Chaudhry was asked to respond to a complaint that he issued "death" and "job" threats to BCCI's CFO Santosh Rangnekar on three occasions. The amicus curiae to the Lodha Committee in the BCCI case, Gopal Subramanium, revealed to the court through an email, by Rangnekar sent to CoA chief Vinod Rai, stating that Chaudhry had threatened him on multiple occasions and said that had he been in Haryana, his position would have been "liquidated" by now.

However, Chaudhry denied the allegation and told reporters that he believed this could be an outcome of his views on financial transactions – many of which were not acceptable to Rangnekar. 

After asking Chaudhry for clarification on the issue, the SC has also adjourned the hearing of the BCCI's suggestion on the draft constitution submitted by the CoA. The SC-appointed CoA had submitted the draft to the apex court on September 11 as the case was due to be heard in the court on October 30. But it was adjourned to November 29, and now it seems it will take a while for the constitution to see the light of day.
