You’ve to be at 100 percent against India, 90 percent isn’t enough, says Aaron Finch

Australia failed to beat India in the 3 ODI from a dominating position yet again, as the middle-order collapsed before they could capitalize on Aaron Finch’s brilliant 124-run knock. And the hard-hitting opener thinks the Australian side has to be at their very best to overcome India in such conditions.

"We've been in a couple of good positions in the first few games and as soon as you give India a sniff, they'll beat you nine times out of 10. You have to play 100 percent to beat (India) in these conditions. If you play 90 percent, it's not good enough here,” said Finch to Cricket Australia's website (cricket.com.au).

India sealed the five-match series with three consecutive wins, which now sees them as the World No. 1 in ODI format and Finch believes that the gap is clearly showing at the moment.

“There's obviously a gap between the sides at the moment and they're proving that. They're 3-0 up, they're the number one side in the world and there are just a few things we need to tinker with as players to bridge that gap and get the results going our way," he added.

Australia’s away form has been terrible of late as the Indore loss marks the 11th loss in their last 13 ODIs away from home, while the other two matches were rain-affected no results. Finch accepted that it isn’t easy to remain positive and confident when the results are not going your way.

"Whenever you're losing, it's never easy. Winning away from home is what every side strives to achieve and I think whenever you start losing, you can lose a little bit of confidence in yourself and in the way, you're playing," the 30-year-old confessed.

After defeating Sri Lanka 9-0 away from home in all formats, Virat Kohli will definitely eye yet another whitewash at home against Australia, which India have never achieved in the ODI format before. However, with South Africa getting away with a 5-0 series win last year, India will be hopeful of repeating the same.
