The Quadrangular series, which is to be played between India A, India B, Australia A and South Africa A, has been moved out of Vijayawada because of the continuous rains. The first four games of the series that were scheduled on the venue could not even reach the first bowling delivery.

The continuous rains in Vijayawada have made it impossible for the cricketing authorities to conduct a match over there. Considering the situation, the venue of the series has moved out of Vijayawada. Most probably, the matches will now be played in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and the KSCA facilities in Alur in Bangalore.

In the series, all the teams were going to encounter each other twice, while there would have been a final involving the last two standing teams. Because of the disruptions, there have been a slight change in the format with each of the teams facing the rest only once, before the finals. The league matches have been scheduled on August 23, 25 and 27, whereas the final will be played on August 29.

Due to poor drainage facilities at ACA ground in Mulapadu, the initial two games scheduled over there on August 17 could not take place. The teams, however, received a point each. Other two games that were going to take place on Sunday were cancelled because of persistent raining following a thunderstorm on Saturday. With nominal hopes of reviving the dry conditions, the matches have been shifted from the Vijayawada venue.

Further, the points that have been awarded to the teams for the unplayed matches will now be considered nullified. The teams will be traveling to Bangalore on Sunday with a view of catching up on a little outdoor training before the series commences in Bengaluru.
