India vs Australia | We are still 100 percent in the game, asserts Travis Head

The inexperience of the Australian batting order came to the fore on Day 2 of the first Test match in Adelaide. Australia finished with 191/7 in 88 overs at a slow rate of over two runs per over and except Travis Head, who made a gritty unbeaten 61 for Australia, no other batsmen had any sort of success for the Kangaroos which reflected on their scorecard. Yet, Marcus Harris who made his debut in this match sounded confident that they were still very much in the match.

"We're still 100 per cent in the game, we're only 60 behind so all it takes is a good partnership in the morning and we're even. We have a brilliant bowling attack … so 100 percent, we're positive,” Head said.

"A good thing with this wicket is it (tends to) get better as the match goes on so I think that should hold us in good stead."

Harris also defended his teammates stating the inexperience of the batting order. He urged everyone to give the inexperienced batting order a little bit of time and be patient with them. After two days of play, the game looks well balanced and a result seems very much probable. The third day will be a very crucial one as it could decide the fate of the match and also set the momentum for both the teams going into the series.

"I think you'll find with a bit of an inexperienced line-up that you've just got to be patient. There'll be those ebbs and flows in form just with guys trying to work it out a bit.

"We haven't got millions of Test matches into our top six so I think people just have to be a little bit patient. We're a pretty inexperienced batting line-up so we're going to have some days like that," Harris urged.
