After being rescued from the child marriage last year, 16-year old B Anusha has shown her talent in both cricket and rugby at the national level. The Rachakonda police department had announced that they will act as her caretaker and provide her with financial help till she completes her academics.

Anusha was going to get married last year to a 26-year-old relative but she was saved by the Rachakonda Police department and a local NGO, Balala Hakkula Sangham. A year on from then, the class tenth student showcased a stellar performance in the inter-school under-19 cricket match held in Madhya Pradesh recently for which she was felicitated by the police department.

PTI quoted Mahesh M Bhagwat, the Rachakonda police commissioner saying, "Anusha showed an all-round performance in the inter-school under-19 cricket match held in Madhya Pradesh recently.”

“After excelling in the national-level cricket tournament, Anusha is now set to participate in the under-19 rugby tournament to be held at the L B Stadium in the next couple of days. The police department will play the role of a caretaker for Anusha. We will provide the required financial help till she completes her academics."
