Before the commencement of knockout stage, Kane Williamson has opined that his team needs to do a couple of adjustments before playoffs to get back to the winning streak. Talking about yesterday’s match, he stated that KKR managed well to pull things back, towards the end of the innings.

Table toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad have suddenly found themselves in a state of array after their third consecutive loss in the Indian Premier League towards the end of the league stage. Going with a dream run of six straight wins, the team looked invincible before some days and regarded as the best bowling side of the Indian Premier League, but the same bowling unit has let them down in their last three encounters.

However, Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson asserted that there is not much to worry as far as the defeats are concerned and he also added that his team needs a couple of changes here and there before the next stage.

"It's playoff cricket, so we need to stick to our strengths. We were just a fraction off the mark. We just needed one more partnership to put the foot on their throat, but they did bowl well,” said Kane Williamson.

"We've played on such a variety of surfaces, and that's been a strength of ours actually. It's a fine line. We just need to do a couple of adjustments," he added.

After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad elected to bat first in a sluggish wicket and scored 172. Though in one stage, they were looking towards a target of 200, KKR bowlers bowled extremely well in tandem at the death to keep them at a modest total. Chasing 173 for victory, Kolkata started with superb knocks from Chris Lynn (55) and Robin Uthappa (45) and chased down the total with two balls to spare. Captain Dinesh Karthik also made a useful contribution of 26 runs and remained unbeaten to take his team over the line.

Williamson didn’t hesitate to give the credit to Kolkata Knight Riders for their performance in the match. Talking about the reason for the loss, the captain asserted that they were few runs short - looking at the ideal start they had, after the mid-innings.

"It was a little patchy from us. A few more runs would've been handy. We were on target for 200 but well done by KKR to pull things back," the New Zealand captain concluded.
