If you thought Azhar Ali’s run-out yesterday was hilarious, then wait till you see what happened in today’s Plunket Shield match between Otago and Wellington. Otago’s Nathan Smith was dismissed in comical fashion after he, along with Michael Rippon, slipped while trying to go for a double.

Pakistan’s Azhar Ali bore the brunt of jokes since his on-field antics on the third day of the second Test against Australia yesterday. However, there was another run-out in today’s Plunket Shield game between Wellington and Otago in New Zealand.

The incident took place in Otago’s second innings in Auckland with batsmen, Nathan Smith and Michael Rippon on the crease. In the 48th over, Nathan Smith hit the ball towards the leg-side and looked to sneak a quick double. While the duo completed the first run with ease, things got a whole lot funnier when they attempted to run back for the second.

Smith, while returning to the striker’s end, slipped rather hilariously and was flat on the ground. Meanwhile, Rippon, who was making a run back towards the bowler's end also ended up slipping after crossing half the length of the pitch. Meanwhile, the Wellington fielder threw the ball to the keeper, who comfortably broke the stumps as a result of which Smith was dismissed. Take a look at the video here.
