Sri Lanka call up Udeshika Prabodhani and Nilakshi De Silva for match against India

The Sri Lankan Cricket Board recalled Udeshika Prabodhani and Nilakshi De Silva for the third round of the ICC Women's ODI Championship series against India. The Lankan team currently sit bottom of the eight-team table and will play a five-match T20I series from September 19.

The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has announced their 15-member squad for their third-round encounter of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship series against India. The board has recalled veteran all-rounder Udeshika Prabodhani, while regular captain Chamari Athapaththu will return to lead the side in the three-match series that she missed out on the recent Asia Cup in Malaysia due to dengue.

Prabodhani toured with the national team in the Caribbean for the inaugural round of the 2017-20 Championship cycle, which Sri Lanka lost by a crushing score of 3-0. She played only one game and was overlooked for subsequent home series against Pakistan which the Lankans again lost by the same margin as they did against the Windies.

The points from the three ODIs will be counted towards the Championship standings and will be played on September 11, 13, and 16. Sri Lanka currently are at the bottom of the eight-team table. The ODI series will be followed by a five-match T20I series, which will begin on September 19.

ODI Squad: Chamari Athapaththu (c), Prasadani Weerakkody, Anushka Sanjeewani, Nipuni Hansika, Hasini Perera, Dilani Manodara, Shashikala Siriwardena, Nilakshi De Silva, Imalka Mendis, Sripali Weerakkody, Sugandika Kumari, Inoka Ranaweera, Udeshika Prabodhini, Ama Kanchana, Kavisha Dilhari.
