BCCI invites fresh application for head coach’s post at the National Cricket Academy
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has invited fresh applications for the role of head coach at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Indian legend Rahul Dravid is believed to be the one to watch out for in this race and will have to apply if he wishes to take over the role.
The BCCI have decided to invite fresh applications for the newly-created position of head coach at the National Cricket Academy on Saturday. Rahul Dravid, who is currently serving as the head coach of India A and India Under-19, will have to apply for the post and is also believed to be the one to beat in this race.
With BCCI getting over with the act of straight appointments due to some doubtful enrolment in recent times, Dravid will have to apply for the job just like the others. Dravid has done a wonderful job at the grass-root level and a lot of domestic players have flourished under his guidance.
“A transparent application process will be followed like it is the case now with all BCCI jobs. Dravid is obviously a favourite for the role as he is already in charge of the junior national teams,” a BCCI official said after a COA meeting, reported PTI.
The administrative work at the NCA in Bangalore will be under the watchful eyes of COO Tufan Ghosh whereas the head coach’s responsibility will be to supervise the budding cricketers along with refurbishing the whole set up that includes getting new coaching staff on board at all level.
