Chris Lynn, Dale Steyn, Jason Roy make the 28-man Platinum pool of PSL draft

The fifth season of the Pakistan Super League is set to take place entirely in Pakistan and at four venues namely Lahore, Karachi, Multan, and Rawalpindi. With the entire PSL being held in Pakistan, they are sending a message to the world that playing cricket in Pakistan is once again safe and secure. The marquee players from the 28-man Platinum pool will feature in the PSL and big names like Chris Lynn, Dale Steyn and Jason Roy will attract huge crowds and will entertain them with their fantastic cricket.

Each team in the PSL will be required to make a squad of 16 players which will consist of 5 foreign players and 11 domestic players and the amount given for each team to spend will be USD 1.1 million. Only three players can be picked by each franchise from the Platinum pool. Three players each will have to be picked from the Diamond and Gold Pools and then the squad will be rounded off with five picks from the Silver and two more from the Emerging Players Pool.

There are six teams in the competition - Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi - and they can retain a maximum of eight players from their existing squad. The teams can also trade players with one another till December 1 and can also release players.
