U-16 Harris Shield | Team bundled out for 7 as all batsmen register ducks
Children's Welfare Centre School’s batsmen weren't able to score a single run, as the team lost the match to Swami Vivekanand School by a massive 754 runs in a U-16 Harris Shield game. For Vivekanand, Alok Pal (6-3) and Varad Vaze (2-3) were the only bowlers in the wicket's column.
History has been made again in Maharashtra, after Pranav Dhanawade’s 1000, as a school team registered 10 ducks in a U-16 Harris Shield match. The only runs the team managed were the 7 runs that the opposition conceded as extra, one bye and six wides.
Children’s Welfare Centre School (CWCS) went on to make an unwanted record as they failed to score a single run against Swami Vivekanand School (SVS) in a match which they lost by a mammoth 754 runs at the New Era Cricket Club plot, Azad Maidan on Wednesday.
The day didn't start well for the CWCS as they were not only hit for 605 in 39 overs but were penalised for slow over-rate as 156 runs were added to SVS’s tally. But that's not where the story ends, infact that's where the real nightmare begins.
Chasing 761, CWCS were bundled out in mere 6 overs, as all their batsmen fell without scoring a run, as the Borivali side cruised to a thumping victory. For SVS, Alok Pal topped the wicket’s column as he bagged six wickets, thanks to his hattrick while Varad Vaze was the only other bowler who made it to the score sheet with 2 wickets.
