The BCCI has decided to put up helpline numbers in dressing rooms during the Indian domestic season in 2019-20 to make reporting any kind of illicit activity. This is basically done to counter incorrect declaration of age and counterfeit documents in junior cricket as well as corrupt approaches.

Time and time again, Rahul Dravid has advocated against age fudging and even gone as far as calling it a criminal offense. During the fourth MAK Pataudi Memorial lecture in Delhi, the former India captain also said that the "scourge of overage players" in Indian junior cricket is no different to "fixing and corruption". Taking stock of Dravid's recent comments on the same line, the BCCI has decided to counter it as soon as possible.

The BCCI has decided to put up helpline numbers for all players, support staff, administrators or other individuals with any affiliation to the teams that come under the board's jurisdiction, it revealed via a release on Tuesday (October 1).

The BCCI Anti-Doping & Anti-Corruption teams have been working closely to spread awareness amongst cricketers, team support staff and members of all associations to approach the respective cells in case of any drug queries, corrupt approaches and incidences of age and domicile fraud. The BCCI's Anti-Doping Helpline continues to be available 24X7 for any medicine related queries by cricketers.

A banner with helpline numbers will be displayed inside dressing rooms across all venues where cricket matches will be played during the BCCI's Domestic season 2019-20. Personnel who want to report suspicious or fraudulent activity can do so by contacting the helpline numbers. It has also been added that the identity of the complainant will be kept strictly confidential.
