I feel I’m improving in every tournament, claims Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya has been on a roll of late, collecting accolades and guiding his team to victories constantly, be it domestically or the national team. He has cemented his place in the starting lineup in the game’s shortest format. Most recently, he was adjudged the man of the series after some brilliant all-round performances in the Caribbean, helping his team whitewash the hosts.

“I went to Australia, New Zealand and West Indies for the first time with the Indian side and got man-of-the-match awards. I feel I’m improving in every tournament. And that’s where my focus is,” the 28-year-old told Hindustan Times.

He will next be seen in action in the three-match T20I series against South Africa, beginning in Dharamsala on Sunday. He was seen sweating it out in the nets and uploaded a picture of himself on social media batting in the nets, with the caption “getting into the groove.”

“Whenever I go for a tournament, I prepare myself and then see if I was a better player than the last series or not. To see the player I was eight months back and what I am now, I’m happy,” he added.

Pandya is yet to represent India in the other formats, even though he has pretty decent first-class and List-A records.

“The ultimate goal is to represent in all formats. It’s not that I’m only thinking or preparing myself for T20Is. I’ve been playing for India A for the last two-and-a-half years and I’ve been doing well. I want to get into the ODI side as well. But again, the focus is on the process,” he signed off.
