Few Indian players make a significant name in foreign franchise leagues and have a major impact overseas. This was evident in the Women’s CPL game between Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals, where Jemimah Rodrigues stood out with a brilliant half-century and led her side to victory.

‌Trinbago’s decision to bowl first proved effective as they quickly removed Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph for low scores. However, Chamari Athapaththu anchored the Barbados innings with a resilient 70 off 63 balls, helping them reach 130/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, Trinbago faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Harshitha Samarawickrama and Deandra Dottin. But Jemimah Rodrigues steered them to victory with a remarkable half-century, clinching the same with a boundary.

The 23-year-old came to the crease in the second over when TKRW was struggling at 18/2 after 2.4 overs. She stabilized the innings, finding the boundary regularly and giving the team a crucial middle-order boost.

On the first ball of the 19th over, Qiana bowled a full-length delivery targeting the middle stump. The Delhi Capitals star read the line perfectly and advanced down the track. With three confident steps forward, she executed an inside out perfectly sending it over extra cover. The ball bounced twice before reaching the boundary, helping Jemimah reach a 45-ball fifty and securing a four-wicket victory for TKRW.

What a heroic inning!
