Skipper Suryakumar Yadav walked in next, going through the worst rut of his T20I career, and struck a statement six early on by flicking Hazlewood off square leg. The Men in Blue looked to be in the ascendancy at 43/1 after five when the drizzle got heavy and the players walked off, returning 45 minutes later with the match curtailed to 18 overs a side and field spread. It made little difference to India's momentum though as a Gill boundary helped take off Marcus Stoinis upon resumption, before SKY meted the same treatment to Matt Kuhnemann. Bartlett returned to the attack and almost immediately offered a way back in for the hosts but Josh Phillipe let SKY walk away scot-free, who added salt to wounds by tearing into Ellis with two boundaries and a six in what turned out to be the final over of play. The tourists were flying at 97/1 when rain made another appearance, this time with more intensity and after a one-hour wait, the match was eventually called off without a result.
