Sanju Samson, once again, showed why he is one of the most sought-after cricketers as he received a warm reception in Dubai. Just as the Indian team was returning after a session, scores of fans lined up, chanting the wicketkeeper-batter’s name, who then went towards them to acknowledge their love.

‌The relationship between Keralites and Gulf countries has been well-documented, and when Sanju Samson, one of the most-followed players in modern-day cricket, ventured out of the stadium after a practice session, it was the end of a long wait for scores of fans. The Indian team is currently in Dubai for the Asia Cup T20s 2025, and Samson is part of the 15-member squad for the tournament.

Just as the players were making their way to the team bus after the session, the fans started chanting ‘Sanju, Sanju…’ at the first glimpse of the wicketkeeper-batter. And the cheers went louder as he walked closer in their direction.

After seeing the emotional outpour from his followers, Indian T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav cheekily said, “It is Dubai and the Kerala cricketer has an aura here.” He called him the local boy, as Dubai and other places in the Gulf have turned out to be a home away from home for several Keralites.

Samson gave a wry smile before walking towards the roaring fans as the other players walked towards the bus. He shook hands with some and signed autographs for the others as he reciprocated their love and support. Twitter went berserk as Samson shocked the cricketing world yet again with the admiration and affection he receives across the globe.
