Cricket Star David Warner in Trouble Over Drink & Drive Case
Legal trouble rises yet again for the former Australian cricketer David Warner. As he gets back in action in the Pakistan Super League, he was arrested a few hours back in Australia. Warner has faced the charges of drink and driving, for which he has also been summoned in the court.
David Warner, the former Australian cricketer, is now facing some serious legal charges. On 5 April 2026, he got arrested and even charged for committing a midrange drink and driving in Sydney. This incident happened when he visited back to Australia during a short break in the Pakistan Super League.
The reports suggest that Warner was having a blood alcohol reading of 0.104, which is almost double than the legal limit of 0.05. This incident took place at the Malabar Road in Maroubra, which is located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Police were quick enough to notice the van stop, and they parked shortly for a random breathtaking test.
The test came out to be a positive result, and immediate actions were taken. Following this, David Warner was taken to the Maroubra Police Station for secondary breath analysis. As of now, Warner has been issued with a Field Court Attendance notice for midrange prescribed concentration of alcohol. He will have to appear before the court on May 7, 2026.
Our Take
David Warner was arrested on the same day when the police officials caught him. But he has been released on custody to return back to Pakistan and play for Karachi Kings as a captain. In spite of this legal issue, Warner decided to head back to Pakistan and spend his time in the Pakistan Super League. It still remains to be seen what charges he would face for the same.
