Royal Challengers Bengaluru have established themselves as one of the best teams in the IPL lately. While other teams have shown mixed performances, RCB still goes on to give nightmares even to the IPL Giants. Last Sunday, the team defeated CSK and this time they defeated MI with ease.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have just started their dominance in the IPL. Ever since their consecutive wins in the IPL 2024 season, the team has not looked back and they still continue to dominate. Their dominance has also helped them to win the IPL 2025 season and put themselves at third spot in IPL 2026 right now.
The last two Sundays have been the days where RCB dominated the IPL Giants. And these Giants are Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, with both teams having won five IPL titles each. However, when they went against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunday became a day to forget for them and even their fans.
Let's take a look at how RCB dominated the two Sundays against the two Giants.
RCB vs CSK
Royal Challengers Bengaluru went against Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB entered this game with a win and CSK started the tournament with losses. In this game, the home team were sent to bat first and CSK thought it would be better for them to chase when the dew arrives.

RCB didn't have a good start, as Phil Salt and Virat Kohli didn't put up good scores. But what followed next was an absolute rampage by the remaining batters. Devdutt Padikkal went on to score 50 runs off 29 balls and Rajat Patidar scored 48 runs off 19 balls. Tim David stepped in the death overs and scored 70 runs off 25 balls, powering RCB to 250/3.
This was definitely a huge total set by the Royal Challengers against an inexperienced batting line-up of Chennai Super Kings. While the team had some expectations from the top order, Sanju Samson (9) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (7) were dismissed cheaply. Shivam Dube was also unable to contribute well, as wickets fell quickly.

Sarfaraz Khan (50), Prashant Veer (43), and Jamie Overton (37), gave some hope to the team. But eventually, CSK was bowled all out at the score of 207. RCB ended up winning the game by 43 runs, making Sunday a day to forget for both CSK fans and players. This was also the team's fourth consecutive win over Chennai Super Kings.
MI vs RCB
And yesterday, RCB went against another IPL giant, Mumbai Indians on a Sunday. This match was being played at the Wankhede Stadium, and Mumbai's team looked more dangerous than ever before. RCB had already managed to beat Mumbai the last season at the Wankhede after 10 years, and wanted to do it again.

Hardik Pandya won the toss and he decided to bowl first. And this decision hurt the team yet again, just like it did to Chennai Super Kings. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave a dominant start to the team, as both of them went on to smash half-centuries. After this, Rajat Patidar and Tim David worked well to finish the game for the team and help them to reach the total of 240/4.
Fans had a lot of expectations from Mumbai Indians when they stepped in for the chase. But these expectations went down quickly, as Rohit Sharma was retired hurt in the powerplay itself. Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma also lost their wickets in the same over against Suyash Sharma, putting the team in some serious trouble.

Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav kept the game alive but they weren't able to do much with the bat. After their wickets, the match completely turned in the favour of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Sherfane Rutherford scored 71 runs in the end, but RCB came out on top, as they defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs. This was also the team's sixth win over Mumbai Indians in their last 8 head-to-head encounters. Even the IPL Giants had no answers to RCB's dominance.
