Mahendra Singh Dhoni is yet to play a game for CSK this season. While he was fit to play the game against the Gujarat Titans, he still didn't get his name added in the playing XI. Ravichandran Ashwin, a former CSK player, has reacted to the same, predicting when Dhoni would play for the team.

Fans have been waiting for MS Dhoni to make his comeback in the IPL. While he remains among the four players who have featured in every season, he is yet to play a game this time. He suffered a calf injury before the tournament started, and was expected to return to action in two weeks. But it has now been a whole month, as CSK waits for his comeback.

Recently, when the team went against the Gujarat Titans, he was expected to play. He was also seen in the practice sessions, and CSK even posted some videos of his practice on their social media handles. Still, fans were not able to see him play for the team in the match against the Gujarat Titans, where CSK ended up losing yet again.

Ravichandran Ashwin has now taken a dig at MS Dhoni and his comeback in the IPL. He posted a video on his YouTube channel talking about the same. Ashwin said,“I’ll say this directly, if CSK gets knocked out of the tournament, then maybe Dhoni will play. Before that, it’s not possible.”

Our Take

Ashwin's dig at Dhoni's comeback has sparked a debate among the fans. While they have been waiting for his comeback for a long time, Ashwin's words might just have made things worse. Some even say that Dhoni is preparing for his retirement, due to which he has already skipped a number of games for the Chennai Super Kings.
