India will be going against Afghanistan in a three match ODI series. Rohit Sharma was in question due to the hamstring injury he suffered in the IPL. But reports claim that the Hitman is fit and he would be available to play for the team in the ODI series.

Cricket fans have been waiting to see Rohit Sharma perform for the Indian team in the ODI series against Afghanistan. For Virat Kohli, it has been almost confirmed that he would be ruled out due to a hamstring injury. But it should not be forgotten that a similar injury issue was faced by Rohit Sharma during the IPL match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

He even went on to miss a few games for Mumbai Indians before returning to action. Ahead of the series against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma was supposed to report at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Hardik Pandya has already visited there and is likely to spend a week to know whether he can participate in the ODI series or not.

But the Hitman didn't report to the BCCI CoE, which has made the fans worried. However, those who are close to Rohit Sharma in the MCA have confirmed that the former Indian skipper should be fit in time for the ODI series against Afghanistan.

Our Take

The availability of Rohit Sharma will be a major boost for the Indian team in the series against Afghanistan. Rohit didn't have a good time in the series against New Zealand, and will be eager to take this series as an opportunity to regain his form with the bat. Along with that, it will also add experience to the Indian batting line-up, which is likely to miss Virat Kohli in the upcoming series.
