India-Ireland T20I Series in Doubt Following Security Concerns in Belfast
India will be going against Ireland for two T20Is from 26 June. Both games are set to be played at Belfast, where a stabbing incident has occurred lately. Sparking security concerns, it remains to be seen whether the venue will be changed by Cricket Ireland or not.
The Indian team will be making its comeback in the shortest format of the game from 26 June. It will be the India tour of Ireland, where two T20Is will be played at Belfast. Even though India has announced its squad for the T20I series, it remains uncertain whether it will take place or not.
Both T20I matches are set to be played at Belfast, a place which has been on the headlines lately. Stabbing incidents have been there in the city over the last few hours, which has caused a disorder among the residents. This was even followed by anti-immigrant protests, which have taken over the city at a good pace. According to reports, 16 police officers have been injured in the same.
The BCCI is now looking at the situation and assessing whether they should play the T20I series or not. Within 48 hours, Cricket Ireland will decide whether they will conduct the domestic games at this venue or not. And a final decision will be taken when both teams approve the same.
