Aggressive player on the field, wholesome father off the field. This is how one could describe the King of the game, Virat Kohli. He visited India a few weeks back during the T20 World Cup, and likely had a visit back to the RCB camp. And now, he is back to London, doing his duties as a father.

It's been more than a year since the King has shifted to London and he resides there with his wife, Anushka Sharma and two kids. Recently, a video has gone viral all over the internet related to Virat Kohli. He was seen dropping his son Akaay to his school, as the moment is now winning hearts.

King Wins Hearts Again

After retiring from two formats of the game, Kohli spends the majority of his time with his family. And some even say that the key reason for his retirement from the game was his family duties. Recently, the video of Virat Kohli with his son Akaay has gone viral all over the internet, as Kohli is being seen as a proud father.

Virat Kohli was dropping off his son to school and both of them shared a joyous moment. It can also be noted as the moment when the King has been spotted with the Prince. The video has gone viral all over the social media handles, and it also remains one of the trending topics right now on Twitter.

Kohli's Interview in the Australia Series

During the ODI series against Australia, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made their comeback to the international team after months. They had last played for the team in the Champions Trophy 2025 and eventually announced their retirements from the Test format.

Following this, Kohli went on a break to London, where he spent time with his family. When he returned to the game with the ODI series against Australia, he also participated in an interview with various former cricketers. There, he reflected on the time he spent with his family, and how he loved the break.

Kohli said, “It’s been a long time off for me since I retired from Test cricket. I was catching up on life. I haven’t been able to do anything, I don’t know for how many years, just been able to spend some quality time with kids, with family at home. It’s been a beautiful phase and something that I really enjoyed.”

He continued by saying, “To be honest, the amount of cricket I have played over the last 15-20 years, I have actually not rested at all. I have probably played the most number of games in international cricket, combining the IPL together. So, for me, it was a very refreshing time off. I am feeling as fit, if not fitter than I have ever been before, and you can feel the freshness when you can play the game, and mentally you know what to do out there. It’s just the physical preparation that really needs to be taken care of. At this stage I realised if my body is fit and my reflexes are there.”

IPL & International Return

The King will now be making his return to the game this month, as the Indian Premier League 2026 is about to commence from the last week of March. He will be playing in the IPL for the first time as the defending champions, as RCB were able to lift the title last season. Kohli also made it clear that he is there to play a few more seasons for the team, as he continues to dominate in the IPL.

  • Runs: 8661
  • Average: 39.54

Even in the last two editions, he has been the top run scorer for RCB in the tournament. His form with the bat has been extraordinary, even though he has retired from the T20I format. With the King making his return to the IPL, it will be intense to see how he performs in the upcoming edition as the defending champions.
