MS Dhoni is currently relieved of the Conflict of Interest complaint that was filed against him. The Indian veteran had been accused of the same in February 2024. However, on 11 March 2026, Justice Arun Mishra voted against the ruling, arguing there is no evidence.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was facing conflict-of-interest allegations over the last few years. Playing for Chennai Super Kings, he has played a crucial role in the team's legacy, leading them to five title wins. But he was facing scrutiny for not following the BCCI Rule 38.

Currently, Dhoni is associated with M/s Aarka Sports and Management Private Limited, which runs cricket academies. Justice Mishra, who filed this order, reported that Dhoni could be seen as an owner in these academies. His report even said that the agreement for the same was made back in 2017.

A few months after the same, the BCCI launched its conflict-of-interest regulations, which took effect from September 2018. The Ethics officer was not able to find any evidence relating to Dhoni's role as a player that could have had an impact on the decision-making process.

The ruling also said that no sort of favouritism, bias, or preferential treatment was done to the CSK veteran. Now, the ruling has been dismissed by the BCCI Ethics officer, Arun Mishra, himself. This now keeps Dhoni ready to play the upcoming IPL season without any interruptions.

Our Take

Despite being 44 years old, Dhoni continues to dominate with his batting and wicket-keeping skills in the IPL. He has played for Chennai Super Kings since the start of the tournament and helped the team to win five trophies. Fans tune up in huge numbers just to watch Thala hit his famous helicopter shot or do some lightning-fast stumpings.

But this time, the matches of the Chennai Super Kings might not give the same vibe. The iconic duo of Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni won't be seen together in the CSK, as Jadeja is now a part of the Rajasthan Royals. It would be best to enjoy each of CSK’s IPL matches this season, as we don't know what could be Dhoni's last game in the tournament.
