IPL Playoffs Continue to Haunt SRH Star Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma has been the star in the Indian Premier League. But when it comes to the playoffs, he has failed to register big scores for which he is known. Even in the Eliminator game against Rajasthan Royals, he registered a duck against Jofra Archer.
Every player is known for having one weakness or the other. But that didn't seem to be the case of SRH opening batsman, Abhishek Sharma. He was able to make his way to the Indian cricket team following his dominant performances in IPL 2024 and has ruled international cricket since then.
Even though Abhishek Sharma is holding the top spot in the ICC rankings, there is one problem which he has not been able to solve. His form somehow disappears when an IPL playoffs match is being played. This also happened when Sunrisers Hyderabad went against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator match of IPL 2026.
Rajasthan Royals were able to post a massive total, and it was expected to be a batter-friendly pitch even for Hyderabad. Still, Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck by Jofra Archer in the first over of the chase. This match continued the poor run of Abhishek Sharma in the IPL knockout games, as he is yet to register a big score in the same.

Abhishek Sharma has been a key player for the Indian team and Sunrisers Hyderabad. But for SRH, he is yet to prove his mark when it comes to the knockout games. Even for India, he has played knockout games in two tournaments, which were Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Out of these, the only game where he was able to give a big score in the knockout match was the final against New Zealand.
