Brazilian forward Marcelinho has revealed that he is yet to be paid for his stint in the 2016 ISL with Delhi Dynamos. The 29-year-old, who was the top-scorer in the league last season, has threatened to take legal actions against the last year’s semifinalists if his payment is not cleared soon.

Under the guidance of Gianluca Zambrotta, Delhi Dynamos reached the semi-finals of the ISL last season, where they lost to Kerala Blasters. The Lions were the top scorer, by a significant margin, in the group stages, and it was the samba magic of Marcelinho which should take most of the credit for that.

The former Flamengo attacker, who has also spent a lot of time in Spain with clubs like Atletico Madrid B and Getafe B in his youth, scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 14 appearances for Delhi Dynamos last season. He won the Golden Boot award as the Delhi supporters had finally found someone who could complement Florent Malouda in the side.

However, it seems like Marcelinho’s love story with the Lions did not have a happy ending. The Rio de Janeiro-born forward has revealed that he is yet to receive his payment from the club, and has warned them about legal actions been taken by his lawyers.

"I have been waiting for the payment to be cleared since December. Please make the payment, Dynamos. My lawyer is looking into various options," Marcelinho told PTI from Rio de Janeiro.

Marcelinho has currently joined Brazilian club Avai FC this year, and it seems unlikely that he will return to the ISL next season.
