ATK have acquired the services of Anas Edathodika ahead of the upcoming ISL season which will be played later this year. After joining the Kolkata-based side Anas has expressed his delight while coach Antonio López Habas has said that he is very pleased with the new addition in the defence.

Anas Edathodika, centre back and former Indian professional footballer is set to join ATK. Anas along with Sandesh Jhingan formed the ever reliable back line of the Indian team. His stellar performances made him the defensive pillar of the team.

Anas started his career with Mumbai in I-League and later joined Pune FC in 2011. Anas won the Pune Football Club Player of The Year award for 2012–13, making him the first Indian as well as the first defender to win it. Anas was named the club captain for the 2013–14 season.

Anas played in Indian Super League in 2017–18 season with debutante club Jamshedpur FC, eventually making him the first signing in the history of Jamshedpur FC for that season of ISL. He joined his national teammate Sandesh Jhingan at Kerala Blasters FC in 2018. This season he will be donning the Red and Whites.

“I am very pleased with the signing of Anas Edathodika. He has established himself as a star defender and I believe he has a lot of potential. He will be an essential addition to the defence of the team,” ATK coach Antonio López Habas said.

“I’m delighted to sign for ATK. I want to come and help the team, that’s always been my goal wherever I have played.  I look forward to meeting the staff and players,” Anas said after joining ATK.
