ISL 2019-20 | Bengaluru FC enlists Balewadi as home venue amidst uncertainty
ISL defending champions Bengaluru FC have enlisted Pune’s Balewadi Stadium as their home venue for the upcoming season in order to meet AIFF’s deadline regarding the same. BFC are still in a tussle with Karnataka Athletics Association to get their rights to use Sree Kanteerava as their home venue.
As per the All India Football Federation (AIFF)'s Club Licensing deadline, the ISL clubs needed to submit stadium-related licensing documents to the AFC and AIFF for the upcoming ISL season by September 15. And with Kanteerava still floating in uncertainty, the Blues have enlisted the Pune ground as their home ground for the time being.
The club announced the same on Wednesday through their social media.

The JSW-owned Bengaluru FC have been at loggerheads with KAA over the use of the stadium with the state association even recently petitioning the Karnataka High Court. KAA has asked them to stop footballing activities on the Kanteerava as the stadium was built exclusively for track and field disciplines.
"The club is working closely with all stakeholders involved to find an amicable solution, and ensure that Bengaluru FC plays its home games out of the Sree Kanteerava Stadium," Bengaluru FC tweeted.
However, nothing has been finalized yet with the Dept. of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), Govt. of Karnataka, has revealed that the final decision is still hanging in the air.
"We have sought legal opinion since the matter was in court. Once we receive it, we will decide what is to be done. It is not that we have ruled out BFC playing here," said M. S. Ramesh, Joint-Director of the DYES, reported Sportstar.
